We are graziers based in East Dorset with a flock of 300 ewes and a suckler/store cattle enterprise. We are helping a number of landowners to restore and enhance grassland habitats through conservation grazing. We are also working collaboratively with arable farmers to bring livestock into their crop rotation by grazing off cover crops or herbal leys.
Charlie is a first-generation farmer who does not come from a farming family, but has always wanted to work with livestock. He has worked as a rural surveyor, agricultural valuer and environmental consultant, while building the capital and experience needed to start his own farming business. He started with a small flock of sheep and half a dozen cattle depastured on the New Forest under ancient common rights. He continues to work in land and environmental consultancy alongside farming, and enjoys being able to put theory into practice!
